Brown Rice Pilau

Ingredients
  

  • 1 T butter
  • 6 whole cardamom pods
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 c brown rice
  • 2 1/2 c water

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a pan. Add the spices, and heat, stirring.
  • Add the rice, and stir. Continue to heat over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
  • Add water. Lower heat to simmer. Cook for 40 minutes.
  • Cover and let stand for 10 minutes.
